The Inter Faith Manifesto

The UK General Election occurred amidst a crisis in inter-faith dialogue. Global conflicts, online hate speech, and socio-economic challenges contribute to community division. The closure of the Inter Faith Network UK further hampers efforts for cohesion.

It highlights the contribution of faith communities to society, particularly during the pandemic, and welcomes political parties' commitment to continue engaging with them. Concerns remain about some authorities' reluctance to engage with religion's positive impact. The manifesto calls for faith and community groups to lead in building peace, supported by the government, without compromising secular principles. It outlines recommendations to the government and faith communities to foster understanding and collaboration in a diverse society.

Diverse Identities, Shared Values

Faith & Belief Policy Collective (F&BPC), a group of individuals and organisations with diverse faith and belief wrote an Open Letter to Government. The Group outlined that diverse faith groups should have representation in government, via consultation across a broad range of belief communities. They are also campaigning for more comprehensive protections, including appointing a special envoy responsible for upholding the freedom of religion or belief.
