Inter Faith Lecture | Hummus and Gefilte Fish: Misrecognition and Divergence in Jewish-Palestinian Peace Initiatives

Tuesday 12 November 19.00 – 19.30

Lecture Theatre C, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Avenue Campus, University of Southampton, Southampton SO17 1BJ

Join us online or in-person for a lecture which will consider why religious Jews and Muslims in Israel/Palestine have broadly avoided the mainstream liberal peace camp. It will also explore what religious Jewish groups do differently when they organise their own peace initiatives. This distinction is revealing and speaks to divergent understandings of what peace looks like and how to get there.
