Midlands Interfaith Conference

Tuesday 12 November 18.00 – 21.00

Room EC1-29, Frank Whittle Building, 3 Gulson Road, Coventry CV1 2JH

This evening event will take place at Coventry University. It is designed to re-energise interfaith dialogue and multi-faith social action across the West and East Midlands, in the wake of the closure of the Inter Faith Network, the Middle East conflict and the recent disturbances in British cities. The Faith Minister, Lord Khan of Burnley, will be giving the keynote speech. Other speakers include Professor Mike Hardy from the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University; Cllr Abdul Khan, Community Cohesion lead, Coventry City Council; the Most Revd John Witcombe, Dean of Coventry Cathedral; Rabbi Dr Michael Hilton; Patricia Stoat, Chair of Nottingham
Interfaith Council; and Kirit Mistry, Founder of South Asian Health Action, Leicester. There will be plenty of networking, and an opportunity for participants to design new collaborations and projects. The conference will be accompanied by an Interfaith Fair where local inter faith groups can showcase their activities (starting 5pm), and preceded by a workshop for young adults.
